Chers élèves,
“Comment ça va? Bien j’espère!” As promised, here is the summer newsletter with info on upcoming courses and some interesting resources to enjoy learning French!
Upcoming courses
French classes are back in September in Sligo and Boyle. On top of that I have added two new courses for total beginners. We therefore now have the advanced beginners classes (for anyone who has already been studying French) and the beginners classes (for total beginners or anyone wanting to start back from the beginning). We will then continue with the November courses. All the details are right here:
Interested to join any of these courses? Just fill in the registration form. For the Sligo courses you can also avail of a €10 discount. To get the discount, two options:
Any questions you may have don’t hesitate to simply email me (info@myfrenchteacher.eu) or send me a text/whatsapp/signal or call me (+353877856252).
Practice your French on the go…
If you have not yet used TV5 Monde to practice your listening skills (while learning plenty of vocabulary and grammar at the same time) I am inviting you to check out the activity from the last newsletter -> Right here.
TV5 Monde has an Android and IPhone App called “TV5 Monde Plus” where you can practice your French on the move. I have been using these activities for many years with my students as I find this tool simply fantastic. The App uses current videos from the TV5 Monde platform and has many different activities divided in 4 levels: From A1 (beginners) to B2 (advanced). So no matter your level you’ll be able to find something that suits you.
Cinéma français “gratuit”
If I told you that you can have access to dozens of French movies with English subtitles for free and without any VPN or having to create any account, would you believe me?
Inner French:
In this newsletter I would like to introduce you to Inner French and its creator Hugo Cotton. On top of being an excellent French teacher he shares with everyone videos and podcasts about different topics. From the Olympic games to How to best learn a language to Artificial Intelligence to School in France. A wide array of topics all explained in French with transcripts to help you improve your French vocabulary.
I have been using his podcasts with my students for some years now and I simply find them very interesting on top of being educative and with plenty of typical French expressions. Hugo speaks at an accommodating pace (not too slowly, not too quickly) and also explains some words he uses, as he uses them. On top of that you can also download for free his 198 French expressions to “really sound French”. You can also find his podcasts on Youtube and most podcast applications (Spotify, etc.)
Private Tuition, Grinds, Online and face to face lessons
I am still available to help you practice your French for one on one or group classes, online and face to face within a 25km drive from Ballymote. Here are the fees that currently apply:
To those of you I have yet to meet, thank you for giving me the opportunity to share with you this Newsletter. The plan is to email you twice a year (end of the year and mid-year). If you would like to unsubscribe from this mailing list, just let me know.
Wishing you all a beautiful end of summer and hope to see you very soon online or face to face!
A bientôt,
